El grupo se creó en enero de 1996 en Sundsvall (Suecia) con Rehn, Meidal y Söderlund. Fhinsthanian Nightbreed constituye su último disco hasta la fecha. En 2003 anunciaron un nuevo trabajo, titulado Delomelanicon, que nunca vio la luz. Rehn retornó en 2004 formando parte de Angtoria junto a su hermano Tommy y la impresionante voz de Sarah Jezebel Deva.

El grupo, que se creó con el objetivo de usurpar el trono a bandas como Emperor, Dimmu Borgir o los siempre presentes Cradle of Filth, enlaza ritmos vertiginosos con estrofas pausadas en un todo único e indivisible, donde las guitarras, teclados, violines y coros femeninos te despojan de tu cuerpo para encauzarte en volandas hacia la esencia del periplo nocturno.

Historias fantásticas de muerte, relatos pérfidos sumidos en un halo irreverente de misterio y tenebrosidad, constituyen la principal apuesta del grupo en su segundo asalto al mercado discográfico. El primero, Together We Summon The Dark, ya obtuvo honorables aplausos por parte de la crítica.

Sinsthanian Nightbreed reanuda la evolución marcada, relegando a un segundo plano todo lo anterior y dejando patente que Abyssos es una banda que tiene mucho que decir en el siniestro océano donde su música se sumerge con desparpajo.
