Novembers Doom es una banda de Death/doom metal originaria de Chicago, Illinois. Actualmente tienen un contrato con la compañía The End Records.

La música del grupo es bastante parecida a la de bandas como Opeth, Katatonia, Mourning Beloveth y Daylight Dies. Las vocales del cantante Paul Kuhr son similares a las transiciones del líder de Opeth Mikael Åkerfeldt. Partiendo su carrera tocando un Death/doom muy influenciado por el doom metal más tradicional, con el tiempo fueron agregando elementos progresivos y reduciendo la distorsión en las guitarras.

Excelente grupo, un ambientazo. Contribuyó también con un tema en un CD Doble tributo a Summoning (And in the Darkness Bind Them) con la canción Long Lost to Where No Pathway Goes, que es el mejor cover de ese álbum a mi parecer. También con otras en una compilación que ya habia aportado. 

No sabria cual recomendarles para que escucharan primero, todos los discos son una verdadera joya ambiental

Opeth es una banda de metal progresivo y rock progresivo sueca formada en 1991 por su compositor principal: Mikael Åkerfeldt. Posee en sus composiciones influencias del rock progresivo, jazz, blues y de guitarras acústicas de corte clásico y folk, más notorias en su álbum Blackwater Park (2001), y Ghost Reveries (2005). Además, también se aprecia una evidente influencia del death metal, especialmente en la manera de cantar en varias canciones de su vocalista, Mikael Åkerfeldt, y de doom metal dada la ambientación y velocidad de algunos de sus temas. Hasta hoy en día, el único miembro original y fundador que permanece es el líder Mikael Åkerfeldt.

Desde la grabación de su primer disco, han lanzado once álbumes de estudio, dos DVD, dos box sets, tres singles y dos álbumes en vivo.
